Mostly middle-class residences continue along the Colorado River to the northeast, though they become more spaced out the farther away from town one moves. Eventually, ranches and farms become more plentiful than pruned neighborhoods. Several markers clarify the sites of old, historic homesteads.

To the west, Reserve Drive branches away from the Colorado River Highway and snakes up the sides of the Defiance Plateau to the Forest Reserve Visitor's Center at the top. The Highway proper crosses into Highcliff briefly before returning to Little Aspen in the southeast.
