The high cliffs of the tree-topped Defiance Plateau rise abruptly to the North of Highcliff. The plentiful high rises of the area often meet this height and rise just above it. The urban sounds of traffic and and smells of asphalt and steel are very apparent and continue south towards Bridgetown. The Colorado River flows south just to the east, and the Deep Creek flows south just to the west. Inner I-870 crosses over the Colorado River at Bridgetown and circles around Highcliff to the north, eventually heading westward towards Diamond Valley. The Colorado River Highway runs northeast along the cliffs towards Lyons.
